Hopwood school holds ‘Walk for Health’

HOPWOOD Middle School and its PTSA held a “Walk for Health” event from Oleai Beach to Quatermaster Road on Saturday, March 18, 2017.

According to the PTSA, 70 individuals participated in the walk from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m.

Hopwood principal Rizalina Liwag said their previous “walkathons” were held on campus, but this time they decided to hold one outside the school.

She said another “Walk for Health” event will be held at the end of the 2016-2017 school year.

The school PTSA organization thanks the following organizations and individuals for sponsoring the event:

Tan Holdings, Tan Siu Lin Foundation, Gold Ribbon Restaurant & Bakery, Herman’s Bakery, Sen. Justo Quitugua, Rep. Ed Propst, Rep. Joseph Deleon Guerrero and the Pacific Islands Club.

Free shirts and prizes were given to participants who pledged $20 or more.
