The 30-minute program “Golden Week Special: Saipan Active Travel with Chiaki” was hosted by program celebrity hostess Chiaki and Fuji TV announcer Nitomi Nakamura. Of seven major channels, Fuji TV received the largest viewership during the 10:15 a.m. broadcast on the national holiday in Japan.

“The advertising value received in exchange for the Marianas Visitors Authority’s investment for this filming is tremendous, and I’ve congratulated our team on their good work,” said MVA Managing Director Christopher A. Concepcion.   “I’ve also received feedback from Japanese contacts who saw the show, and they were all impressed.   We thank our various partners for their in-kind donations, as each of them helped make this possible.”

The two hosts began their tour at Obyan Beach with Marianas-chan or Marianas child Jebro Leon as their guide. They went on to highlight newer attractions in Saipan, including Surf Club, Terry Snack Bar, Marianas Ocean, iHop, and Zen.   Visitor favorites were also featured, including Managaha, T Galleria, Joeten, Mt. Tapochao, massage at Mariana Resort & Spa, snorkeling at Grotto, and barbecue beachside dining at Aqua Resort Club.

Chiaki also posted 40 images about the trip on her blog and Instagram account, which has over 100,000 followers.
