3 found with suspected ‘ice’ in Guam parking lot

HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — Three individuals congregating with a group in a parking lot were caught with suspected meth, according to a magistrate’s complaint filed in the Superior Court of Guam.

Officers of the Guam Police Department were on patrol in Harmon when they observed a group of people gathering in a parking lot on Aug. 3.

When officers approached the group, they noticed several individuals had dispersed.

The police soon found a black and silver canister in the back of a nearby vehicle, which contained a glass pipe, plastic straws and small plastic bags with crystalline residue.

A woman identified as Doreen Bennette Cruz indicated to officers that the “ice pipe” belonged to her and that she had used it earlier in the day, court documents state.

Officers next searched another member of the group, identified as Cuong Trong Troung, and reportedly found in his pockets a cylindrical container with four small bags of a crystalline substance.

Police also searched the scooter seat compartment of defendant Francisco Jose Pangelinan, where they discovered a glass pipe, plastic straw and plastic baggy, which contained additional suspected drug residue inside, according to the complaint.

Chemical field tests were conducted on all items recovered during the search and all revealed a presumptive positive reaction for the presence of crystal methamphetamine.

Cruz, Troung and Pangelinan were arrested and charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance as a third-degree felony.
