Drunk driver in Yona crash gets 3-year prison term

HAGÅTÑA (The Guam Daily Post) — Anthony Jay King, the man who pleaded guilty to negligent homicide earlier this year after admitting to driving under the influence of alcohol, was sentenced to three years in prison yesterday.

King, 24, told authorities he drank six beers and three shots of Fireball liquor before losing control of his vehicle over the Ylig Bridge in Yona while going 71 mph.

King had two other passengers in the car, including 41-year-old Mark Yamaguchi Mendiola, who later died of his injuries.
