Tourist loses wallet in hotel restroom

A TOURIST has turned to the Chinese Association of Saipan for assistance after failing to get help from police in recovering his lost wallet containing $2,000 worth of cash.

Feng Qi, 39, said at around 12:30 p.m. on Aug. 29, 2017, he went to the restroom in the restaurant at Kensington Hotel, where he accidentally left his Louis Vuitton wallet.

The wallet, he added, contained his passport, ID card, $2,000 cash and Chinese currency. He said his wallet itself was worth $1,200.

Qi said he went back to the restroom 6 to 7 minutes later, but his wallet was gone.

He said he reported the incident to the hotel management, but it refused to cooperate.

He also called the police at around 2 p.m.

According to a copy of the Department Of Public Safety incident report obtained by Variety, a theft incident was reported on Aug. 29, 2017 at a hotel and the victim was Feng Qi.

Ta Bun Kuy, Chinese Association representative, said the hotel management refused to show to the police footage from its security camera.

Variety tried but failed to get a comment from Kensington.
