Scheduled water service interruption

(CUC) — The Commonwealth Utilities Corp. would like to inform the general public that there will be a scheduled water service interruption for the Chalan Piao, San Antonio, Chalan Kanoa, Oleai, San Jose, Koblerville and Susupe areas on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Customers in the affected areas should expect restoration of services soon thereafter.

The interruption is required so CUC’s contractor AIC Marianas Inc. can make the necessary repairs to a leaking 6-inch water transmission line. As a result to the repairs, a more effective and efficient water operation will be provided.

Repairs will be located in the corner of Guangdong Hardware in As Lito. Due to the closure of the southbound lane and for the safety of our men and women working at the site, motorists are advised to proceed with caution and take alternative routes when traveling by the area.

A similar water service interruption for residents along Chalan Monsignor Martinez Road from the As Lito Road intersection through portions of Koblerville is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

CUC’s contractor Tropex Garden will be connecting the new 6-inch distribution main to the existing mainline. This project is part of an ongoing As Lito Distribution System Upgrade and Service Lateral Relocation/Reconnection Project and is funded by the United States Environmental Protection Agency. The new connection will be located in front of the Ming Li Store in As Lito. As a result to the new connection, a more effective and efficient water operation will be provided to the public.

Due to the closure of the northbound lane and for the safety of our men and women working at the site, motorists are advised to proceed with caution and take alternative routes when traveling by the area.
