Vendetta keeps playoff bid in Alii/Blue Haus caging

VENDETTA is living up to their name as they crawled back from the ground in the 2nd Season Ali’i/BlueHaus Intercolor Basketball League grasping two straight wins during last weekend’s games held at the Tan Siu Lin Sports Complex.

Vendetta bagged their third victory against #TeamSawi putting them in danger of a playoff seat last Saturday, 85-70.

It was Gino Libuw and Ed Pangelinan’s combined performance that kept Vendetta in control.

Right from the start Pangelinan found his range connecting back to back triples alongside Libuw who mixed spread the floor with in and out makes to take the lead.

#TeamSawi’s main scorer Ehroll Peredo struggled to get a rhythm going only making four points in the opening quarter but JR Concepcion stepped up taking his place leading the squad with 10 points to their hopes up.

Although Peredo started to get more looks during the second half, #TeamSawi continued to move further out of sight due to their inability to stop Libuw scoring 13 straight points at one point alongside Pangelinan’s reliable three point shot hanging on to the double digit gap leading to the victory 85-70.

Vendetta kept their streak alive as they collected their fourth straight win against Green Archers 95-89.

Green Archers gave a good fight but could not hold on for long as they fell apart at the second half letting Vendetta slip away with the win 95-89.

This time it was Dexter Tenorio that stole the spotlight as he stayed effective around the perimeter with eight points to put Vendetta in front 21-17.

Ferrer was able to shed some light for Green Archers at the second canto grinding eight consecutive points supported by Bart Demapan’s seven points to cut the lead down within a two point reach. But Vendetta struck back during the third quarter thanks to thanks to Reymark Castro and James Dela Cruz’s in-and-out play sharing 11 points while Pangelinan attacked from beyond the arc to recover the comfortable 68-56 distance.

The dynamic duo of Demapan and Ferrer tried to keep Green Archers in the fight as they took over the final quarter but Dela Cruz and Pangelinan stayed consistent enough to secure the win 95-89.

Black Mamba joined the winners’ circle on Saturday defeating White Haus 90-79 joined by Gold Ballers who powered past Green Minded 88-77.
