MCS Knights bounce back with blowout win against Agape, 73-21

THE Mount Carmel School Knights redeemed themselves during their first meet against Agape Christian School with a monstrous win, 73-21 during yesterday’s game of the 2017 Coalition of Private School Sports Association High School Basketball League held at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.

Defense was the key to MCS Knights dominant control as they barely left any room for ACS to attack.

With every steal and forced turnover, MCS had a handful of fast break opportunities led by S.J. Yun with 10 points aided by Richardson and Factor’s combined 12 points for the double digit lead in just the opening quarter 25-6.

ACS managed to cut MCS’ production by half during the second canto taking their main scorers out of action but remained behind as they continued to struggle offensively.

Only John Chen and Peter Wang were able to penetrate through the enemy line but could only do so much making only six total points while Evangelista and Malonzo stepped up for MCS to keep them in control 36-12.

More misfortunes fell upon ACS as they were left silenced at the third quarter.

MCS built an impenetrable wall forcing ACS to take low percentage attempts but to no avail turning defense into offense with Factor on the frontline for the 40-point spread.

As much as ACS gave to make up for the rough third quarter performance, MCS fired at will leaving them out of sight for the easy win 73-21.
