The Cubs lost only once with 11 wins in the regular season and won the pennant over the Tanapag Falcons who clinched the finals slot over the IPI Pirates last week.

In last Tuesday’s game, starting pitcher Joe Lizama who topped the pitching chart with 0.28 ERA, did not allow runs in three straight innings. He gave up one run in the top of the fourth where he threw his fourth strike out.

The Blue Jays defended the field as well with starting pitcher Ben Lizama (1.67 ERA) blanking the Cubs in the bottom of the second inning.

The Cubs rounded the bases in the bottom of the third with left fielder Ricardo Dela Cruz and Joe Lizama firing an RBI single apiece. The Cubs strengthened their lead with unearned runs.

In the bottom of the seventh inning, Dela Cruz launched a two RBI triple and third baseman Nokki Saralu drove in a run on sacrifice fly to widen the gap.

Centerfielder Shakobe Rangamar and relief pitcher Kiku Lizama chipped in RBI single apiece and the Cubs took their road to the finals.
