Comets I beat Braves, Chiefs rout Comets II in junior league

SHORTSTOP Bing Nakamura drove in three runs to pull the Comets I away on the top of the third inning and beat the NSA Braves in the junior division of the of Saipan Little League Baseball’s 2018 season at the Francisco Tanko Palacios Baseball Field.

Starting pitcher JP Castro and Nakamura handed the Comets I two RBIs in a row to put up the lead in the opening inning.

After a runless second inning, the Comets I had two consecutive base hits before Nakamura send three runs to widen the gap.

Nakamura tripled and right fielder Seleno Yorormad doubled and the Comets 1 zoomed away, 9-5.

Chief 15, Comets II 3

Pitcher Delbert Sablan threw six strikeouts to help the Wes Pac Telecom Chiefs nail the Comets II to three unearned runs.

Sablan also gave up six base hits with three walks.

After three straight runless innings, right fielder Justin Aguon singled. Second base Keona Camacho loaded the bases with a walk before short stop Kaipo Dikito drove in a in on a fielder’s choice for a strong lead.

Third baseman Ohane Borja, center fielder Eliray Castro and Shane Mallen had RBI apiece in the fifth and the Chiefs never looked back.
