Legals blank Braves, Pirates rout Twins in major league

THE Little Legals and the Pirates kept a strong stance in the major division of the Saipan Little League Baseball with blow out wins over their respective opponents at the Miguel Tange Basa Pangelinan on Saturday.

Starting pitcher Gunner Sablan and his reliever, Gregorio Pangelinan helped keep the Braves scoreless in the entire game.

Sablan had 11 strike outs, giving up four hits with one walk, while Pangelinan who took the mound in the top of the sixth inning added two strike outs with no hits and no walk.

Sablan put up the lead in the bottom of the first by firing a solo homerun, as Benjamin Palacios hit an RBI double.

They continued to lead the Legals with Palacios driving in runs with a sacrifice bat in the third and a single in the fifth.

Sablan fired two RBI double in the fourth.

Pirates 22, Twins 3

The Pirates showed no mercy as well to rout the Twins as they rounded the bases almost every inning.

Shortstop JR Suel blasted a two RBI double in the first inning, with third baseman Joey Dela Cruz hitting an RBI single, left fielder Josh Atalig, an RBI double and first baseman Clark McDonald, an RBI double.

McDonald homered in the second inning as the Pirates widened the gap.

The Pirates rounded the bases in the fourth with Deandrey Cruz chipping in an RBI single, Suel another RBI single, catcher Isaiah Mesa, second baseman Destiny Pangelinan and Dela Cruz driving in runs to pull the Pirates ahead for a 10-run rule victory.
