Saipan Vegas Elite routs NSA Warriors II, 49-29

THE Saipan Vegas Elites continue to strengthen their record in the U18 Division of the 2018 Francisco M. Diaz Memorial Youth Basketball League as they added another win by defeating the NSA Warriors II, 49-29 last Monday at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.

Saipan Vegas’ communication on both ends of the court was their biggest advantage as they were able to cover all grounds.

Each defensive stop led to an easy bucket on the other end led by Albert Atan’s six points with Andrew Omelau and Xavier Okaruru right behind to push a 12-5 gap.

No matter what the Warriors II cooked up, they could not shake off the struggle.

Joel Norita was their biggest hope as he connected six straight points during the second quarter but the team failed to put Saipan Vegas’ run to a stop.

Brad Tisa took over the second canto producing six points while the rest of the team joined in to push the distance 25-11.

The Warriors II stepped up their game at the third canto nearly shutting down Saipan Vegas’ output. Their aggressive effort on the defensive end held Saipan Vegas to just six points but still could not thrive offensively as only Norita could stay consistency remaining behind 19-31.

With Saipan Vegas’ dominant control, they let the first five take a seat letting the rest of the team in on the action.

Lawrence Fleming, Luis Blas and Graigy Ray stole the spotlight adding the finishing touches before ending the game with a blowout win, 49-29.

Last week, the CT Law NMI Rollers climbed to the top with a 67-39 win over the 670 Sonics.

It was a laid-back game for Rollers as their skills were unmatched.  They left the Sonics with barely any room to breathe only putting up six points while Angelo Factor and Chioni Dela Cruz exploded offensively with a combined 17 points to aid in their 20-6 control.
