BSI powers past 670 Akkeri, 76-63

THE BSI Team is making their way back in the 2018 Men’s Island-wide Basketball League as they earned their third win by stunning 670 Akkeri, 76-63 during last Wednesday’s game at the Gilbert C. Ada Gym.

BSI’s teamwork was the key to victory. Their movement with and without the ball created several shot opportunities.

Big man Paulo Sanguyo took care of the inside game contributing eight points to aid in their first quarter lead.

Akkeri fought back with a mix of offense. Fred Litulumar matched up to Sanguyo’s performance with seven points, including one from the three-point line supported by Ed Pangelinan right behind with six points. They continued to trail, however, as Sanguyo stayed on point dropping shot after shot to remain in front.

No matter what Akkeri threw at them, BSI had an answer on the other end.

Rico Ibag played a major role as support slipping in points when Sanguyo could not. With his help as the aggressor, they were able to draw countless fouls putting nearly half of Akkeri’s team in foul trouble early in the game.

The rest of Akkeri’s bench started to chip in during the last few moments of the game but with the lack fouls to give from their starters, they could not stop BSI’s run as stretched the lead out of reach securing the game 76-63.
