Shirley’s earns 2nd win in Dove Women’s League Division A

SHIRLEY’S Football Club has made their way out of the gutter after their second win in the 2018 Spring Dove Women’s League Division A against Kanoa Football Club 2 10-4 last Thursday at the Tan Siu Lin Sports Complex.

Shirley’s FC was in total control starting their scoring spree early in the game.

Katrina Costales began the assault at the third minute followed by Marrielle Gariguez connecting the second goal two minutes after.

KNFC 2 tried to get a rhythm going with Krizel Tuazon and Jeralyn Castillo on the frontline of the assault but Shirley’s FC’s quickness was just too much to handle as they disrupted each play with countless steals leaving openings for Costales to capitalize with two more goals at the seventh and ninth marks to push the lead 4-0.

KNFC sneaked in one goal before ending the first half thanks to Castillo’s quick shot at the 18th minute to keep their hopes up.

SFC continued to fire at will as six more goals were added during the second half.

Their constant pressure on the defensive end led to easy uncontested shots on the other end. Costales added two more goals at the 23rd and 37th minute while Diane Manacop followed through with three consecutive shots to put the lead out of reach.

KNFC 2 gave a good fight with Tuazon adding two goals of her own but the rest of the team failed to match up to SFC’s firepower settling for defeat 10-4.

Kanoa Football Club 1 still remains at the top of Division A as they collected their seventh  victory over Tan Holdings Football Club 2-1.
