I-Secure makes it to final four in Civic Center basketball league

I-SECURE escaped defeat taking down Pinatubo by just four points 64-60 to secure the last seat in the final four of the 2018 Civic Center Intercolor Basketball League held at the Civic Center basketball court.

I-Secure had the head start as Josh Andrews exploded with eight points slicing his way inside to grasp hold of the lead. Pinatubo managed to linger close behind though as Jerome Norita answered on the other end with eight points of his own 11-16.

Pinatubo’s hustle then took over the second half flipping the momentum around.

Their pressure defense forced I-Secure to commit a handful of turnovers leaving Chad Mendoza open on the other end. I-Secure was quick to jump back into defense but failed to stop Mendoza in transition putting him in the foul line for a few easy points. With the help of rest of the team, I-Secure was able to steal the lead 30-27.

Despite Pinatubo’s comeback, I-Secure easily erased all hopes during the third canto.

Pinatubo suddenly lost touch as their shots were just not going in. I-Secure fed off each miss with Sonny Lerio leading the fun with eight points. Kelvin Fitial, who stayed consistent throughout the game, continued to put up shots while Cocoy Rotap and Andrews joined up to gain the double digit spread 48-36.

Pinatubo gave it their all at the final quarter as they shot down half of I-Secure’s production. Joe Acosta played a huge role in their last-chance attempt firing seven points alongside Ed Pangelinan who finally got his shot going from beyond the arc with two triples. However it was still not enough to regain control as I-Secure’s Kelvin Fitial dominated the inside with the last two dagger buckets to claim the win 64-60.
