DESPITE the inclement weather the NMI National Baseball Team continues to gear up for the Micro Games that will kick off this coming weekend in Yap.

Along with team manager Patrick Tenorio, coach Manny Sablan and assistant coach Mike Cruz, the NMI sluggers swarm the Francisco Tanko Palacios Baseball Field every week days to practice batting, pitching and field plays.

On weekends, they go to the track to run a couple of laps.

“We prepare for the event just by practicing every day,” said Tenorio.

“Micro Game is anybody’s game. Whoever is more prepared to go, will play the game. We will try our best to prepare and hopefully the players will perform,” he added.

This is not the first time Tenorio handled the team for Micro Games. He was the manager of the NMI baseball team that won silver in Palau eight years ago.

This year’s team is made mostly of the young guns who have recently graduated from the Little League program. The veteran players who played in the last Micro Games in Pohnpei in 2014 include Many Sablan, Pat Alepuyo, Franco Flores and Tyrone Omar.

The other NMI National Baseball Team players are Lorenzo Sebaklim, Virgil Secharmidal, Nokki Saralu, Angel Palacios, Henry Lizama Jr., Franklin Lizama, Alderbert Lizama, Ben Jones J., Roy Celis, Nathan Camacho, Shane Yamada, Franco Lieto, Patrick James Tenorio Jr., Anthony Tenorio, Jose Deleon Guerrer, Mike Cruz and Mabel Ngirngemelas.
