Falcons beat Blue Jays, 14-6 in SBL

THE Falcons strengthened its stance for the playoff round in the Saipan Baseball League by beating the Blue Jays, 14-6 on Wednesday at the Francisco Tanko Palacios Baseball Field.

With three consecutive RBIs from pitcher Frankie Norita, centerfielder Nedrei Skerie and third baseman Kimo Angailen, the Jays took the lead in the top of the third inning. They strengthened their lead in the fourth with catcher Andru Camacho scoring a run on fielder’s error.

Right fielder Frankie Lifoifoi led the rally for the Falcons with a two RBI triple in the bottom of the fourth inning. Leftfielder Jay Kalen added an RBI single and the Falcons zoomed past the Blue Jays.

JJ Lifoifoi took the mound halfway to the end of the fourth inning and added three strike outs to help the Falcons blank the Jays in three straight innings.

Catcher Henry Iguel contributed an RBI single on the sixth and first baseman Bradley Lieto scored his fourth run in the eight and the Falcons pulled away to secure their win, 15-6.

Falcons starting pitcher Kaainoa Kekuchi had four strike outs, allowed six hits with two walks.

Aside from the Falcons, the Mariners and the Aces were also vying for the playoff spots as the SBL regular season comes close to finals.
