Jam Shooters ease past Titans, settle for 4th place in SBA Thursday League

THE tough battle for the fourth place in the 2018 SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball Thursday League was still being passed around when the Brannon’s Jam Shooters took the seat this week with the victory over the 9Eleven Titans 11-2 held at the 9Eleven Restobar.

The Shooters’ thirst for the win was seen right from the start as Roger, Senen, Albert and Lito caught on fire sweeping the opening Singles 8-Ball match for the 4-0 lead.

The Titans tried to fight back as Ray and Randy teamed up to snatch their first win of the night but Bill and Joey could not keep the fire burning splitting the Partners 8-Ball match evenly.

Despite the Titans’ efforts, the Jam Shooters quickly regained momentum grabbing a 3-1 run for the safe 8-2 distance. Titans never saw the light after that as

the Jam Shooters took the last two matches to add the icing on the cake 11-2.

Sands Team SCS stole the spotlight of the night as they ran away with the upset victory over 9Eleven 8 Black Ball 7-6.

Even with Team SCS falling down at the pits of the standings, they played like top dogs. After splitting the Singles 8-Ball match, Team SCS followed up with a surprise attack working as a team to sweep the following Partners 8-Ball match 4-2.

8 Black Ball was not going down without a fight though. They met their second split during the second Singles 8-Ball match and pulled through with a two-win sweep of their own to tie the game 6-6. Luckily for Team SCS, their will shined as Bryan and Ken collaborated to stun 8 Black Ball 7-6.

The 9Eleven MJD Warriors still remains safe at second place as they earned their 194th win against the VFW Assassins 8-5.

Neither team could gain the edge as the first two matches were split 3-3. But as soon as the Assassins lowered their guard, the Warriors were quick to strike sweeping the Singles 8-Ball match for the four point advantage 7-3.

The Assassins tried to delay the inevitable pulling a 2-win sweep but eventually settled for defeat 8-5.

The Amari’s IT&E Homeboyz also joined the celebration as they triumphed over Amari’s Intensity 8 9-4.
