While Marshall made a big upset win over top-seeded New Zealand’s Valentina Ivanov, 6-1, 6-2, No. 4 Lee outlasted No. 7 Australia’s Annerly Poulos, 1-6, 6-4, 7-6(4) in the girls’ singles semis finals.

Finally making it to the final match in this event, the 16-year-old CNMI’s top player broke her last year’s feat when she lost in the quarter final match to Megan Smith.

Marshall however, dominated Lee both in the first and second set of the final match to win the title, 6-1, 6-4.

Lee defeated her Australian foe Anastasia Berezov, 7-6(3), 6-3 in the quarter finals on Thursday last week.

She made a strong opening with a 6-4, 6-4 win over New Zealand’s Ema Miyaura and clinched the quarter finals berth over another unseeded foe, Australia’s Roopa Bains, 6-2, 6-0.
