In the opening game, the Patriots foiled the Ayuyus’ attempt to tie the ball game in the top of the seventh inning for their 7-6 victory.

They beat Ayuyus’ final base runner, centerfield Defaustina Camacho at the home base, thanks to the quick hands of shortstop Kiana Aldan and catcher Richelle Tsunami Ramon.

Pitcher Alannah Mae Sablan debuted with two strike outs and defensive plays with Aldan and first base Mariko Laniyo.

The Patriots put up a slim lead with Ramon and Aldan stealing home bases.

They strengthened their lead in the bottom of the sixth with second base Kiana Camacho, Ramon, Aldan and Cassandra Camacho scoring runs.

Ayuyus’ Angelina Camacho walked, then, made her way to the home base to cut the Patriots lead in the top of the seventh inning.

With two outs, Faustina Camacho took the first base on a defense error before second base Juanah Lizama launched the ball into air giving Faustina the cue to rush home for tie but got there after the ball landed in Patriots’ Ramon’s mitt.

 Balas 26, Niners 5

The Balas rounded the bases in each inning to rout the Niners in the second game for their 26-5 blowout win.

Pitcher Apple Tyquiengco hit a double and the rest of the Balas started their trip to the home base with walks to put up a strong lead in the first inning.

With centerfield Keona Rogopes and Tyquiengco hitting single apiece, the Balas stretched their lead in the second inning.

Tyquiengco homered in the third while Tamisha Sablan singled, and the Balas never looked back.

Pitcher Casperlyn Lizama doubled, second base Clarita Lizama, left field Monica Norita and right fielder Kaylene Ngotel singled as the Niners pursued the Balas.
