THFC holds 2nd place seat in U18 Youth League

TANHOLDINGS Football Club are still one of the teams to beat in the in the U18 Division of the 2019 Spring Youth League after shutting down Kanoa Football Club 5-0 during last Friday’s game held at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

It took awhile for THFC to penetrate through KNFC’s line of defense as the game was held scoreless for the first 30 minutes. But after a few trials and errors, THFC finally broke through with Joshua Waldo scoring the first goal of the day at the 31st minute.

After that, the rest of the team started to pick up the pace as their momentum flared up. Five minutes later teammate Joshua Mendez joined in the highlights connecting the team’s second shot while Mark Esalan added the third at the 38th mark to lead 3-1 by the end of the first half.

KNFC did not have the chance to attack as they were forced to defend throughout the remainder of the second half. Even with focus, they were unable to keep THFC off their end of the field.

Esalan’s speed was too much to handle as he continued to deliver scoring his second goal at the 42nd minute and completed his hat trick 14 minutes later to secure the win 5-0.

MPU still holds the top seat as they collected their 6th straight win against Matansa Football Club 3-2.

It was a close battle as MFC came to win drawing first blood at the very first minute of the game thanks to Raffy Lee. However MPU answered back just six minutes later by Jason Quimzon to even the score 1-1. Luckily for MPU, their efforts did not go unnoticed as Sun Joon Tenorio followed up at the 18th minute to grasp the lead 2-1.

MFC also never gave in and was awarded at the second half just six minutes after the break made by Razeff Altamirano to put the game at a deadlock once again. However it was MPU’s Joshua Abragan that saved MPU from the draw sinking the game-winning shot at the 49th minute to secure their 6th win 3-2.
