Saipan Vegas routs IT&E 75-64

SAIPAN Vegas continues to rise in the 2019 Civic Basketball League as they gathered third win after pushing past IT&E 75-65 during last Wednesday’s game held at the Civic Center basketball court.

IT&E did not go down as easily as they controlled the first half of the game. Elmer Esdrelon stood at the front line as he found his stroke behind the three-point line sinking two shots. Bart Demapan and Rich Peredo also added some extra firepower combining for 10 points to end the first half with the lead 20-14.

Saipan Vegas started to pick up the slack at the second canto. Khristian Itaas, Bruce Berline, Darwin Barbo and Junar Guiab shared similar outputs chipping in four points apiece erasing the gap back within reach. However IT&E maintained efficiency as Brandon Talania and Marlon De Dios stepped up on both ends of the court to stay in front 40-37.

It was not until the third quarter where Saipan Vegas made their comeback. Junar Guiab’s strength was felt as he powered his way inside and around the perimeter firing eight points alone. Barbo also kept the fuel burning while Rommel Usi, Ryan Odicta came off the bench with two points each to snatch the lead 55-50.

Saipan Vegas’ defensive effort continued to wreak havoc as they nearly shut down IT&E’s production as only Ehroll Peredo could put up a shot. But with the rest of the team unable to score, they slowly faded away.

Itaas’ kept the points coming as his speed brought in a few easy points while adding two more buckets from beyond the arc to gain the comfortable distance leading to the double digit victory 75-64.

NMI Contractor 56, Batang 51

NMI Contractor is also on the rise as they earned their second victory defeating Batang 56-51.

Batang seemed to have the win in the bag as they led throughout most of the game. They established control right from the start as Dacunos caught on fire sizzling eight points to lead the team to a 20-8 first quarter lead and held the double digit gap by the end of halftime.

However NMI Contractors seemed to have recovered their rhythm during the third quarter. Cabang led the comeback with six points while Centina, Esmores and Montoya joined in erasing the deficit back within single digits 38-42.

Batang fell into a drought during the final quarter as they could not find a shot only putting up five team points losing grip of the lead. Their missed attempts fed NMI Contractors on the other side as John Jugos, Morales and Cabang finished each fast break opportunity securing the lead and the upset victory over Batang 56-51.

Real Deal still remains undefeated to sit on top of Bracket B after collecting their 4th straight win against Loving Hands 80-72.
