PIC bags Division B title

PACIFIC Islands Club has claimed the other half of the 2019 Spring Men’s M-League title after outscoring top contender Shirley’s Football Club 6-0 to be called the Division B champions last Sunday held at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

PIC’s mix of speed and control is what led them to victory as they just kept the shots coming in. At first, Shirley’s FC kept up with the tempo of PIC exchanging blows at every turn. But after 10 minutes of back and forth action, PIC finally found their momentum and never looked back.

Albert Bergancia was the first to open up striking at the 11th minute to fire up PIC. The rest of the team took whiff of the heat and continued to put pressure setting up Floyd Muna for the second shot of the day just three minutes after.

Although SFC managed to keep PIC off their backs, it did not take too long until PIC returned with their third goal at the 31st mark by John Canape to increase the deficit 3-0.

Even with the halftime break, SFC could not shake off the offensive struggle. No matter what they cooked up, they could not figure a way past PIC’s defense remaining silence throughout the game.

PIC, on the other hand, brought in three more goals. Bailey Spaeth and Brandon Tenorio joined in the spotlight with a goal each at the 46th and 62nd mark while Canape drilled his second goal at the 82nd mark to add the icing on the cake taking the Division B title with a bang 6-0.
