Albertos, Pacific Eco triumph in Civic caging

ALBERTOS and Pacific Eco continues to improve their ranks in the 2019 Civic Basketball League after earning another win over their opponents during last Saturday’s games held at the Civic Center basketball court.

Albertos managed to bounce back from a rough start and grasp the comeback victory shocking Marianas Variety 74-64.

MV managed to grab the early lead as Ken Viray fired up quickly cooking up 14 points alone to take control of a comfortable 19-10 lead. Josh Andrews then joined in at the second canto leading the run with six points while Prince and Angelo Factor joined in with a triple each to stay afloat 33-28.

Despite MV’s performance, they failed to keep up the consistency letting the lead fall out of their hands. Albertos’ Barrios found his stroke sinking two shots from beyond the arc to support his eight points with Jerald Rivera cleaning up the trash with six to grab their first lead of the game 54-45.

MV gave it their all to get back within reach as Sid Quan, SunJoon Tenorio and Alex Standish combined for 15 points at the final quarter. But so did Rivera with Jandoc and Mangali right by his side to secure the win 74-64.

Pacific Eco still sits comfortably at third place in bracket B after defeating Lakay 75-53.

It was the work of Gontar and Demonteverde that carried Pacific Eco to victory as the dynamic duo stayed reliable throughout the entire game. Shot after shot the two collected 11 and 10 points respectively aiding in their 31-21 spread.

Lakay used all the ammo in stock as the bench chipped in shots to keep the fight going but failed to kill Pacific Eco’s fire. Gontar stayed aggressive getting shots from the free throw line while Demonteverde leading the final quarter with 10 points to seal the deal by double digits 75-53.

DC remains the team to beat as they still hold the undefeated record pounding Pacman 670 to the ground 100-85.
