Sean Lee, who advanced past Louie Zhang 6-2, 6-0 had a much tougher battle this time around taking the loss against Yunseok Jang from Korea.

Jang played well with quick and powerful serves along with well placed shots gaining the control early. Sean Lee tried to stay in the fight keeping up with Jang’s assault but gradually lost control of nearly each possession ending in an error or overpowered return ending in a 0-6 defeat in the first set.

Jang continued to hold control throughout the second set as Lee could not find an answer. With each strike Jang closed out the game with another 6-0 victory eliminating Lee to advance to the quarter finals.

Robbert Schorr also suffered the same fate as he was taken down by Dong Hwan Kim.

Despite triumphing against Japan’s Jayato Kurihara, Kim managed to outperform Schorr in round 3. His powerful returns kept Schorr on his toes but failed to keep up losing the first set 6-1.

Schorr picked up the pace during the second set closing the gap but Kim maintained efficiency and secured the final set needed to advance 6-3.

Maria Gregoire, another CNMI player, was sent packing along with her partner Caini Wang in round 1 of the Girls Doubles U18 division. The team gave a good fight but could not get past Riko Kamiikura and Hiromi Sekiguchi of Japan 6-1, 6-1.

The last of the CNMI players, Ken Song and Jimin Woo also failed to advance in the Boys Double U18 division after bowing down to Je Won Jeon and Dogeon Park of Korea 6-3, 6-0.
