Loving Hands power past NMI Contractor for semifinals spot in Civic caging

LOVING Hands are the first to to advance past the first round in the playoffs of the 2019 Civic Basketball League after pounding NMI Contractor to a pulp 110-63 last Wednesday held at the Civic Center basketball court.

Loving Hands held control throughout the game but did not have it easy as NMI Contractors stuck close by during the first half.

Jun Javier was the spark plug for Loving Hands as she displayed his skills from underneath the rim putting up six points and even extended his range for one highlight from beyond the arc to hand his team the lead. With the help of Jun Tabora’s reliable pull up jumper, they ended the opening quarter with a comfortable advantage 23-18.

The second half started to lean towards NMI Contractors’ favor but they inability to capitalize kept them behind. John Jugos led the run with two triples while Manangan, Esmores and Jayvee Castillo contributed a few buckets cutting the deficit back within reach.

NMI Contractors’ run was short-lived, however, as Javier and Tabora maintained efficiency to hold on to the lead 36-32.

The halftime break was the turning points for Loving Hands as they returned with Ed Pangelinan finding his range from beyond the arc. He opened up the third canto sinking three consecutive triples to push the double digit spread. NMI Contractors just could not get back up after Loving Hands’ run as only eight points were made from the team falling further out of sight.

Even with a strong final quarter performance by NMI Contractors, they still could not match the consistency of Pangelinan as he continue to shoot the lights out firing 11 three-pointers alone to secure the win for Loving Hands 110-63.
