Saipan, Tinian All-Stars off to Korea for 2019 Asia-Pacific Tournament

THE Saipan and Tinian All-Star teams will represent the CNMI in the 2019 Asia-Pacific Regional Little League Baseball Tournament that will be held in Seoul, South Korea.

The Saipan All-Stars will represent the commonwealth in the Majors Little League Baseball Division while the Tinian All-Stars will represent the CNMI in the 50-70 Intermediate Baseball Division game, according to CNMI District Administrator James A. Ada.

The opening Ceremony, he said will commence on June 22 and the championship game will be played on the June 28.

Host team Korea, Chinese Taipei, Guam, India, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Philippines, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Indonesia will be in the Majors Division.

While CNMI, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Philippines made up the 50-70 Tournament.

The winner in the Majors Division will head to the Little League World Series in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania beginning in August.
