It was anyone’s game as several lead exchanges were made from start to finish. The Sonics moved the ball well as they created a handful of shot opportunities. Yel Manalo and Rafael Ordona led the pack with seven points apiece while Khristian Itaas aggressively attacked the rim and drawing foul after foul to get in the line.

The Rollers played unselfishly as well. Angelo Factor made sure his presence was known as he dominated the defensive end with two steals, a block and five rebounds in just the first half. With the help of Steve King’s nine points, the Rollers stayed close behind 20-22.

The lead continued to bounce around as neither team wanted to give it up.

The Rollers focused on the defensive end as Joey Cruz joined the fray with blocks and rebounds while Factor continued to produce buckets. However the Sonics’ teamwork outshined the Rollers as nearly every player contributed on both ends of the court. Itaas could not find his stroke but excelled on the defensive end with rebounds, creating second chance buckets for Ordona and Paulo Cadag.

In the end both teams deadlocked 41-41 resulting in an overtime period.

Despite the Rollers’ efforts, only Factor remained effective. He failed to get the help needed. The Sonics, on the other hand, flourished thanks to Itaas’ ability to shoot from beyond the arc, downing two triples along with two more points from the free throw line to grab the lead and secure the win, 51-49.
