CNMI golfers end in top 50

THE CNMI Golf Team ended the golf event empty handed but still made it to the top 50 list in the individual competition after the conclusion last Saturday held at the Fagalii Golf Course, Samoa.

Joe Camacho leads the list for CNMI as he sits at 29th overall while teammates Jesse Atalig sits at 39th, Marco Peter at 48th and Ryan Kim at 51st.

In round 1 of the men’s individual event Ryan Kim nipped the highest ranked among the CNMI team at 7th place with a net score of 71 shooting -1 par to stay alive. Joe Camacho followed after at 31st place with a net of 78 shooting 6+ par, Jessie Atalig with a net of 41 shooting 10+ par and Marco Peter with a 51 net score with 18+ par.

CNMI then struggled at the second round as only reached 39th place by Joe Camacho who held at net score of 155 shooting 11+ par after a gross of 77. Atalig sat below with a net of 162 and 18+ par with a gross of 80 and Marco Peter with 175 net and 31+ par with a gross of 85.

Camacho continued to deliver with a gross of 75 during the third round but still fell short sitting at 26th place shooting 14+ par for a net of 230. Atalig held a gross of 82 while shooting 28+ par for a net of 244 at 39th place and Marco Peter grossing 93 shooting 52+ par for a net of 268 to sit at 48th place to conclude their ranking.

As a team, CNMI ended 11th overall scoring a net of 231 at round 1, 242 in round 2, 229 in round 3 and 229 at round 4 for a total net of 931.
