Team SCS continues to rise in SBA Thursday League

SANDS Team SCS are on a nonstop train to the top in the Thursday Division of the 2019 Budweiser Open 8-Ball League after earning their 137th win, just one win away from slipping to second place defeating 9Eleven Mellow Touch 9-4 last Thursday held at Sands Bar.

Mellow Touch was the first to draw blood as Vic claimed the opening round of the Singles 8-Ball match. However Team SCS quickly found their footing with Ken, Rowel and Bryan snatching the remaining three rounds to take the lead 3-1.

Mellow Touch tried to fight back by splitting the following Partners 8-Ball match but fell to another drought due to Team SCS’ one-on-one performance pulling another 3-1 run to move further out of reach.

Team SCS did not stop there as they swept the second Partners 8-Ball match to secure the win by a distance 9-4.

Drew’s Bridge Capital made their way to the winner’s circle as well taking down VFW Assassins in a close battle 7-6.

Bridge Capital seemed to have the win in the palm of their hands as they started off with a 3-1 run at the opening Singles 8-Ball match.

Luckily for Assassins, their efforts did not go unseen.

They fought hard but only ended up splitting the next two matches to stay behind 4-6. But then they were finally rewarded during the second Partners 8-Ball match as their teamwork was enough to grasp the 2-win run and even the game 6-6. Despite their efforts Bridge Capital managed to shut down all hopes as Randy and Phil triumphed at the final Partners 8-Ball match to snatch the win 7-6.

Drew’s Titan has now moved up to 6th place after defeating Drew’s MJD Warriors 8-5 along with 9Eleven Club 88 Blackball who beat Drew’s IT&E Homeboyz 8-5 and Brannon’s DECM Wizards’ victory over Brannon’s Grill 11-2.
