NMI Men fall short in 100m

THE NMI Men’s Athletics Team fell short in yesterday’s 100m event but still stamped their name in the books making the top 40 list in the 2019 Pacific Games held at the Apia Park Stadium, Samoa.

In heat 1 it was Ratu Tabakaucoro of Fiji that took first place with a time of 10.87. Tonga’s Ronald Fotofili came in second clocking in at 11.01 while Papua New Guinea’s Michael Penny followed after at third place with 11.05. NMI’s Beouch Ngirchongor settled for 8th place crossing the finish line at 12.66.

NMI was not seen in the top 7 list in heat 2 but later returned in heat 3 with Traven Quitugua reaching 6th place at a time of 11.81.

Their last appearance was in heat 5 where Quitugua placed 30th with a time of 11.81 while Ngirchongor came in at 37th at a time of 12.66.
