The Mariners found their footing early in the game as they started the opening inning with three runs. First up to bat was Tony Tenorio who capitalized off the Rockies’ errors, reaching second base from a wild pitch. Pat Tenorio then connected a grounder past second base, handing Tony Tenorio the go-ahead, reaching home base for a 1-0 lead.

The Mariners’ streak did not stop as Nate Camacho delivered a shot over first base earning the single RBI by bringing home Pat Tenorio. One more run was made with the help of Eli Aughenbaugh with a third hit, allowing Camacho to touch home plate and extending the gap 3-0 before the Rockies could get the three outs.

The Rockies picked up the pace on the defensive end for the next two innings as they silenced the Mariners and finally earned their first run at the bottom of the 3rd off an error.

But during the 4th inning the Mariners regained a comfortable distance as Tony and Pat Tenorio continued to shine along with Camacho and Jonah Flores adding four more runs for a 7-1 spread.

Despite the Mariners’ lead, the Rockies never gave up.

They gathered two runs of their own at the bottom of the 4th inning, taking advantage of errors made, and two more in the 5th to stay in the fight.

In the end, the Rockies’ efforts were futile as the Mariners held their ground, squeezing in one more run in the 5th inning to secure the win, 8-5.
