IT&E was propelled by the eventual player of the game Kevin Nuguid as he shot the lights out in the first and third quarters, sinking a total of five triples. Right from the start Nuguid opened up with a triple and added two more. He also had some help from Jaymark De Guzman who pumped in eight points, allowing IT&E to take a 21-11 lead.

The lead continued to grow despite Nuguid and De Guzman barely seeing any action in the second quarter as Light & Salt could not get out of the gutter, scoring 10 team points only.

Light & Salt finally got its shots going in the third canto with Rommel Usi leading the run and scoring seven points. But IT&E’s Nuguid returned fire with two straight shots from behind the three-point line with De Guzman right by his side to maintain IT&E’s double-digit gap.

Light & Salt gave its all in the final quarter, but could not make a comeback as the rest of the IT&E players picked up where Nuguid and De Guzman left off. Pamintuan drained three triples in a row while Gotengco ended the game with six points to seal IT&E’s victory over Light & Salt 84-56.

Saipan Adventure 55, Docomo Pacific 51

Saipan Adventure bagged the other win of the night after outlasting Docomo Pacific 55-51.

It was an up and down battle and the lead changed hands several times. Docomo first held control as the dynamic duo of Tony Diaz and Shane Deleon Guerrero were nearly unstoppable, putting up a total of 13 points. When the first quarter ended, Docomo was in front 17-15.

However, the duo’s output started to dwindle in the second canto which gave Saipan Adventure the chance to strike. Almario and Mungcal exploded with back to back buckets to snatch control 28-25. Both teams fought hard but Saipan Adventure managed to hang on as its players contributed crucial shots. Docomo’s Diaz and Deleon Guerrero did what they could but could not match the entire team of Saipan Adventure which secured the win, 55-51.
