TanHoldings leads M-League Division A with win over KFAS

It was speed over experience as THFC came rushing for the attack. In just five minutes THFC gained control with Mark Esalan doing what he does best, pushing the ball and outrunning defenders with ease to sink the shot. KFAS did tighten the grip deep inside but still could not keep up with THFC’s persistency as Kaden Church joined the scoreboard at the 15th minute mark.

KFAS was not to be taken lightly, however, as its players’ slow pace managed to slip through the teeth of the defense with precision passes. After countless attempts, they were finally rewarded at the 22nd minute mark with Juan Oh finishing strong to reduce the deficit 1-2. But when they focused on attacking, they failed to keep THFC from breaking through as Church followed up with his second consecutive goal to regain the safe distance, 3-1.

The halftime break worked in THFC’s favor as its players returned refreshed and keeping up the tempo.

Church completed the hat-trick by connecting his third shot at the 51st minute mark while Ichiro Borja fired his contribution six minutes later. It did not stop there as Borja and Esalan displayed their speed to score their team’s 6th and 7th goals to secure the win.

KFAS could not escape defeat, but its players refused to go down without a fight as Hwapyoung Kim scored a goal at the 77th minute mark to somewhat soften the blow, 2-7.

The U19 National Team shared a similar story as its players pummeled Old B Bank, 12-2.

Seven goals were made in just the first half with John Michael Rojas leading the assault with three goals while Skyler Poon, Sabastian Manabat, John Bucayo and Taka Borja chipping in. Old B Bank only had few opportunities to score and could not stop U19 NT’s continuous pressure as the national team members added five more goals to end the game, 12-2.

The Kanoa Football Club, for its part, defeated Island Star 7-4.
