Joeten 1 escaped the clutches of Triple J in game 2 of their semifinal match, 87-83.

Joeten 1 held control early thanks to its players’ diverse offense, attacking close and far. Their movements created several shot opportunities that allowed Sambile to make two consecutive buckets and ignite Joeten 1’s momentum. Kabriel and Maratita added firepower from behind the three-point line, draining a triple each while Alex Lauron powered his way inside the paint with eight points for a 20-10 Joeten 1 spread.

Triple J, which had a shortage of players, constantly attacked in order to stay within reach. Cabocha found his range with five points and later added 10 more to reduce the gap, 36-41. Triple J players kept their cool and continued to drain the crucial shots needed to force an overtime period as the fourth quarter ended in a tie, 70-70.

Despite Triple J’s efforts, two of their players fouled out while Joeten 1 attacked to gain control and secure the final win needed to advance to the finals, 87-83.

TDI had a tough battle as well but held onto the lead long enough to take down RNV and secure the other slot in the finals.

Teamwork was the key to TDI’s victory as its players used everything in their arsenal to stay in control. Velasco was the man to look for as he constantly found the bottom of the net from all over the floor. With the help of big men Reyes and Barbo, TDI ended the first quarter ahead by four, 30-26.

RNV tried to pick up the pace defensively but fell into foul trouble early in the second quarter. Barbo shot a high percentage from the line with eight points while Rabasto contributed seven points to establish a double-digit TFI lead.

RNV’s players started to knock down their shots in the third canto but failed to stop the scoring spree of TDI which maintained a comfortable distance en route to victory, 99-87, and a shot at the title against Joeten 1.
