Kanoa is 2019 FA Cup champion

THE Kanoa Football Club Boys U18 edged the TanHoldings Football Club U18, 1-0, in the 2019 FA Challenge Cup championship on Saturday at the NMI Soccer Training Center in Koblerville.

During the first half of the game, both teams tried hard to score, but they defended well.

In the second half, at the 40th minute mark, Sebastian Manabat ended Kanoa’s drought by scoring on a penalty kick.

“I feel good after earning that goal,” Manabat said in an interview.

The penalty kick was the result of a red card received by TanHoldings’ Joseph Rasa after colliding with Markus Toves,

TanHoldings tried to equalize, and made several attempts to score, but to no avail.

Kanoa Football Club U18 coach Irish Paragao said that it felt great to win the title despite the lack of time to practice due to the recent Thanksgiving holiday.

“But we planned the tactics a day before the game,” she added.

En route to the title match against TanHoldings, the Kanoa Football Club beat the MP United Football Club, 6-1, and the Matansa Football Club, 6-1.
