“The tournament was good, I myself had a lot of fun, I joined five categories and won 1, but got to compete against the A division and that was real challenging one thing we did different this time around was that we allowed players to play in more categories than we usually do,” Tournament Committee Chairman Nathan Guerrero said in an interview.

“I think the tournament turned out pretty well, we managed to get a couple of the A division players to join because a lot of them are either busy with work or not here anymore,” he added.

Out of the five categories Guerrero joined, he managed to grab one championship title in the Singles Men’s B defeating Jun Sik Kim. Deether Almond Edralin grabbed the other lone title of the Singles Men’s A against Jordan Pangilinan and two more with the help of Shirley Kim for the Doubles Mix AB and Jordan Pangilinan for the Doubles Men’s A. In the Doubles Men’s BC, Allan Relativo and Patrick Fernandez earned the title. Hanna Choi and Windy Fernandez claimed the Doubles Women’s AB, Miles Gurrero/John Oh (Doubles Mix C), Hajin Oh/Jun Sik Kim (Doubles Mix BC), Allan Relativo/Windy Fernandez ( Doubles Mixed BC), Jordan Pangilinan/Hannah Choi (Doubles Mixed A), John Oh/Henry Ko (Doubles Men’s C), Shirley Kim/Ana Alvarez (Doubles Women’s B), Hajin Oh/Windy Fernandez (Doubles Mixed B).

“We usually only allow 3 categories per tournament but this year we opened to however many the players chose to enter. People had fun, we had some great games and interesting ones like some upset games which I thought was amazing,” Guerrero said.

“I really want thank & give a HUGE shout out to IT&E for sponsoring this tournament and continuously showing love & support for the sport throughout the years. As you know, we are trying to grow as we are still a pretty small community and we are looking to expand and for a company like IT&E to have sponsored us for all this time, we just want them to know that NMBA is truly grateful for them. And we hope that they will continue to sponsor us,” he added

NMBA would love to invite everyone in the community to come and try out badminton, its fun, great way to sweat, good workout both physically and mentally and very challenging. So come one come all!
