MP United rallies past, THFC 4-3

MP United Football Club pulled off a major come-from-behind win thanks to Mira Michiteru’s two last-minute goals to beat Tan Holdings Football Club, 4-3 during last Sunday’s game of the 2017 Men’s League A Division held at the Hopwood Middle School soccer field.

It was a battle between MP United’s Mita and THFC’s Sean Perez, the only player keeping his team in control throughout the entire game.

MP United was the first to fire as they set up Mita for the strike just three minutes into the game to gain control.

THFC did not let it faze them as they bounced back six minutes later with Sean Perez finishing strong in enemy territory to tie the game 1-1.

THFC maintained their pace using swift ball movement to find Perez for his second goal of the day two minutes after to snatch control 2-1.

After a moment of back and forth action, MP United managed to even the odds as Young Kim took advantage of the unguarded opportunity slicing a shot past midcourt straight through the net to tie the game.

Despite MPU’s efforts, they could only breathe for a second as Perez returned to strike once more during the following five minutes to regain the lead 3-2.

THFC focused on keeping MPU off the danger zone for the second half with near success. But during the last 10 minutes of the game, MP United pulled out all their strings.

Their defense built up momentum taking THFC by surprise as Mita worked his way past their defensive line crossing from the outside and straight into the box to fire the shot putting the game at a deadlock of 3-3.

MP United was not going to settle for the draw as Mita kept the fuel burning bursting through the field to fire the game winning goal four minutes after to take the win 4-3.

Kanoa FC had the easy win as Hawaiian Rock forfeited.
