Titans slip past Hustlers to clinch second place in SBA Tuesday League

THE 9Eleven Titans have joined the battle for the second place in the Tuesday Division of the 2017 SBA Budweiser Open 8-Ball League after upsetting the 9Eleven Docomo Hustlers 7-6 last Tuesday held at the 9Eleven RestoBar.

The Hustlers drew first blood as Albert and Jerry snatched two out of the three rounds in the opening Singles 8-Ball match to take the lead.

The Titans managed to even the odds as Ray and Shane bagged the single win at the following Partners 8-Ball match but the Hustlers regained control with another 2-1 run.

Things seem to be falling in the Hustlers favor as they tightened their grip taking the second Partners 8-Ball match to extend the gap 5-3 but Titans’ persistency paid off as they quickly turned the tables.

Titans’ Shane and Bill started off putting the game back at a deadlock of 5-5 after claiming two rounds during the third Singles 8-Ball match. Their rally seemed to have sparked a team momentum as they paired up taking the next two Partners 8-Ball matches to finish strong escaping with the victory 7-6 gaining their 88th victory to share the second place seat.

The ChowTime BlueHaus Destroyers remains another threat for the second place spot as they earned 87th win over Tasha’s Crazy 8 9-4.

The Destroyers were nearly impenetrable when it came down to individual performance. They started off with a 2-1 run and followed up seizing the Partners 8-Ball match to lead 3-1.

Crazy 8 tried to keep up as they denied the sweep for four rounds, but as soon as Destroyers built enough momentum to sweep the third Singles 8-Ball match, it was all over leaving Crazy 8 in the dust 9-4.

Tasha’s Str8 Black Ball still holds the top spot as they shared a similar victory against the ChowTime Assassins 9-4 to collect win number 90.
