Papa Bears even season with blow out win over Saisei

THE Papa Bears evened the season by handing Saisei its third loss in a row with a blow out win on Monday’s game of Saipan Baseball’s Masters League at the Francisco Tanko Palacios Baseball Field.

With first baseman Greg Camacho’s two RBI single and second baseman Mike Muna’s RBI single the Papa Bears wiped pounded Saisei in the bottom of the first inning with a10-run lead.

The Bears easily wiped out Saisei’s one run lead by short stop Ota Nobuyuki’s run-scoring triple in the opening inning.

Saisei trimmed Papa Bears’ lead with an RBI single from pitcher Kuich Damian. Then, they tightened their defense to keep the Bears runless in the bottom of the second.

But the Papa Bears came back in the bottom of the third back-to-back base hits to widen the gap.

Camacho blasted his second RBI of the night, connecting a double before Ben Palacios, right fielder Nick Reyes and relief third baseman Ron Camacho came up with back-to-back base hits.

Camacho swung his second at-bat in the third driving in another run to stretch the lead.

The Bears rounded the bases twice in the fourth blowing Saisei out with 16 more runs.

Here, relief right fielder Henry Lizama drove in two runs with a single; Fitial hit his second RBI before the rest made their way home on walks.

Third baseman Hector Efraim hit an RBI double in a losing effort in the top of the fourth inning.

Don Pangelinan struck out six leaving Saisei with two shutout innings.
