For many pre-readers and their families, the Joeten-Kiyu Public Library is offering free access to age appropriate programs, resources, and expertise to our community. Our Early Literacy Summer Reading Program is available for parents or guardians to include their youngest children-starting with newborns — from birth to age 5. Registration is required at the Front Circulation. Parents or guardians must have cleared, valid library cards to participate. Participants will receive an Early Literacy activity log, which will need to be completed to earn an awesome prize.

Teens and adults can also participate in the Summer Reading Program! Interested participants (ages 13 and up) with all cleared, valid library cards should register at the Front Circulation. You’ll receive a reading log, which you will need to complete to earn awesome prizes! In addition, be sure to check out our monthly calendars, which contain many fun and exciting programs and activities just for the ages 13 and up! Free breakfast and lunch will be provided courtesy of CNMI PSS Food and Nutrition Services for all registered early literacy, children, and teen participants.

Lastly, get excited for our annual Outreach Summer Library Program! Our dedicated Bookmobile and Outreach team is gearing up to provide a high-quality summer reading program all over the island. The Bookmobile will visit many places around the island — stay tuned for future dates and location. Food service will also be provided to each of the registered participants at their respective locations (ages 18 and under).
