Youth Affairs announces summer program

(Press Release) — The Office of Youth Affairs’ summer program activities will be conducted simultaneously at the Chalan Kanoa Manhoben Center and the Gualo Rai Youth Learning Center on weekdays, Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., from June 24, 2019 to August 1, 2019. The centers will be closed on weekends and July 4, 5, and 19.

The program is for all youth ages 5-17 years old.

As of Thursday afternoon, the program had officially reached the maximum capacity for pre-registrations and had a very long waitlist.

The Office of Youth Affairs is no longer accepting registration for the 2019 summer program.

The program will be centered on the following daily themes set to encourage learning of new skills and developing existing interests in our youth. Activities under each themed day will change weekly:

Monday - Culinary Day

Centered on basic cooking and baking activities.

Tuesday - Earth Day

Centered on basic gardening skills and eco-friendly activities.

Wednesday - Arts & Crafts Day

Centered on creative and cultural crafting activities.

Thursday - Music & Dance

Centered on cultivating new and existing talents through music and dance activities.

Friday - Movie Day

Centered on educational movies.

1 hour of outdoor sports activities daily

Free lunch for each registered child provided by the CNMI PSS Child Nutrition Program
