At about 7:32 p.m., officers met with a female tourist who said she was the caller. As the officers interviewed the victim, she stated that she and her daughter were walking back to their hotel after having dinner at a nearby restaurant, when she noticed a red sedan pull up behind her and park on the roadway. As the female individual continued walking, she felt her purse being grabbed. When she turned she saw a male individual wearing a black jacket and black long pants get into the back seat of a red sedan with her purse. The sedan then fled the scene heading north along Plumeria Avenue.

The detectives reviewed a photo of the vehicle from a nearby security camera. The vehicle used in this incident is a red Nissan Sentra, 4-door sedan. The contents of the victim’s purse include her Chinese passport, a watch (brand and color not reported), the victims’ credit cards, about $1,000 in U.S. currency, and a couple of telephone cards.
