At about 4:46 p.m., officers patrolling near the area arrived at the scene and met with the stores’ security officer. The security officer stated that an employee noticed a basket and hangers in the female restroom just before closing time the night before. Since the store was closing the security office had to view the footage the next day.

During the day of Wednesday, July 17, 2019, I Love Saipan security personnel reviewed the footage from the following day and noticed a group of four females taking turns carrying a black bag. One female was wearing a yellow shirt, the second female was wearing a black shirt, the third female was wearing a gray sweater, and the fourth female was wearing a blue shirt with the number “3” printed on the front and back. The female using a yellow shirt walked into the restroom area with the basket and leave shortly after through the store’s top entrance/exit, without the basket. Right behind the female using a yellow shirt, the female using a black shirt followed and was holding the black bag.

Outside the exit, the female in black gave the bag to the female in yellow. The female in black walked back into the store, as the female in yellow left the premises through the vehicle access ramp with the female wearing a gray sweater, and continued walking south. Shortly after, the female wearing black, walked down the same ramp with the female wearing blue with the number “3” printed on the front and the back, the two females also walked south along Alaihai Avenue.

Detectives were recently given access to the surveillance file of the incident.

This case remains ongoing. If you have any information about the identity of the suspects, call 911. If you wish to remain anonymous call the CNMI Crime Stoppers hotline at 234-7272.
