Officers met with the caller who is employed by HPO. The employee stated that three ancient shells are missing from a selection that was due for repair. The shells were placed on a table while awaiting an individual to repair some parts of the shell. When the inventory was found to be three shells short, the employee called 911 for police assistance.

It was also mentioned that the shells were discovered at an archaeological site in Garapan in 1994. Given the historical value, the shells are considered priceless.
