Latte Training Academy announces opening of Founders Scholarship Program

(Press Release) — The Latte Training Academy Inc., a 501c3 non-profit, has announced the opening of its Founders Scholarship Program for the upcoming 2017-2018 school year. The program, which is broken into several distinct scholarship funds will offer $11,000 in college scholarships to eligible applicants.

“We are continually inspired by the people that have gone through the various Latte Training Academy certification programs. We have always thought of our programs as a launching point for those wanting to gain access to a career and understand the necessity for continual professional growth. As a result, we have committed $11,000.00 annually to support our participants in their career growth,” says LTA president Juan-Carlos Benitez.

The organization’s Founders Scholarship Program pays homage to the founding board members of the organization, Arielle Buyum, Jeremy Sasamoto, and Julian Aguon. The program is designed to award scholarships in the areas of specific interests to each of the founding members, including The Jeremy Sasamoto Scholarship Fund, the Julian Aguon Humanitarian Fund, and the Arielle Buyum Healthcare & Women in Business Fund. Each one of the funds awards two $1,000 scholarships, while the Marianas Hospitality Fund offers three $1,000 scholarships and one $2,000 scholarship.

“We encourage all past and present LTA participants to apply for funding this year. We have streamlined the application process, expanded the eligibility criteria to be more inclusive, and have simplified the documentation requirements. We hope that many of our participants look to the success of our past scholarship recipients as a motivation to apply” says Ed Arriola Jr., LTA treasurer.

Last year’s awardees included CNMI graduates Eloise Lopez, Sam Esturas, Angel Mar Pamintuan and You Na Lee. Unlike last year, the Latte Training Academy is expanding the eligibility to all Latte Training Academy program participants who have completed certification within the past three years. The application deadline is June 15, 2017, with awards being announced by Aug. 1, 2017. Scholarship eligibility requirements and application can be found at www.lattetrainingacademy.com/.
