NMI gambling survey seeks community input

(Press Release) — As a collaborative effort between the Commonwealth Casino Commission and Imperial Pacific International, the Substance Abuse & Rehabilitation Program under the Office of the Governor is still seeking the community’s input for the ongoing NMI gambling survey.

The survey will gather baseline data in order to help determine if a further comprehensive screening tool is needed to assess gambling in the CNMI.

According to Substance Abuse & Rehabilitation Special Assistant Yvette Sablan, collecting a sizeable and diverse sample from the population is needed to determine next steps for policy development and treatment services.

“The community is highly encouraged to take the survey. As a client-centered rehabilitation program, the mission of the Substance Abuse & Rehabilitation Program is to provide culturally appropriate wellness and recovery programs aimed at improving the overall quality of life for individuals struggling from substance abuse addiction,” Sablan said.

The survey will continue until further notice and will only take a minute to complete. All submissions are completely anonymous.
