Tinian Disaster Recovery Center closing but help is still available

(CNMI Join Information Center) — On Friday, Dec. 14, 2018, at 6 p.m., the Disaster Recovery Center or DRC on Tinian will close, but help will still be available for disaster survivors impacted by Typhoons Mangkhut and Typhoon Yutu.

Disaster Unemployment Assistance application submission deadline extended for NMI

(Department of Labor) — The CNMI Department of Labor announced Thursday it has extended the application submission deadline for Disaster Unemployment Assistance or DUA for Typhoon Mangkhut and Super Typhoon Yutu from December 16, 2018 to January 15, 2019.

#MarianasStrong year-end event on Dec. 29

(MVA) — In lieu of its annual Christmas in the Marianas event, the Marianas Visitors Authority and its tourism partners will celebrate the #MarianasStrong year-end celebration on Dec. 29, 2018, at Paseo de Marianas in Garapan, Saipan.

(Press Release) — The CNMI Office of the Clerk of  Court, Superior Court would like to notify individuals with traffic citations that pursuant to a court order issued by Presiding Judge Roberto C. Naraja on December 3, 2018, cases that were initially scheduled for November 1, 2018 and were rescheduled for December 6, 2018 as a result of Super Typhoon Yutu are again rescheduled for January 15, 2019 at 9 a.m. , and they will be heard at the Marianas Business Plaza, Courtroom 201, on the second Floor.

EPAP extended; medication assistance continues

(CHCC) — Emergency Prescription Assistance Program, or EPAP, from the U.S Department of Human and Health Services has been extended until Dec. 31, 2018.

(Press Release) — Bank of Hawaii’s Gualo Rai branch on Saipan will resume normal operating hours following Typhoon Yutu, beginning Monday, Dec. 17.

Waived water sample testing fee for restaurants and caterers

(CHCC) — Two  CNMI government agencies are working in collaboration with the U.S Environmental Protection Agency  to ensure food caterers and restaurants are continuing to use safe and clean water before, during, and after a disaster event in the CNMI.
