DPS prepares for 3Dcampaign

By Cherrie Anne E. Villahermosa

THE Department of Public Safety will soon conduct its public education awareness about the dangers of impaired driving especially during the holiday season.
DPS spokeswoman Lei Ogumoro said the department will increase law enforcement patrols targeting impaired drivers and conduct sobriety check points.
On Nov. 21, DPS will launch its annual 3D Prevention Program.
3D stands for drunk and drugged driving.
Ogumoro said the campaign will be headed by the department’s 3D Prevention Planning Committee which includes representatives from the traffic section and other divisions.
The newly appointed traffic commander, Sgt. Anthony Macaranas, will play a vital role in this year’s campaign, which, Ogumoro said, is part of the department’s commitment and dedication to the safety and security of the people of the commonwealth.
She said DPS is also asking the public to report any impaired drivers and help save lives by preventing alcohol-related crashes.
