Subway Restaurants celebrates ‘National Sandwich Day’ on Guam

(SUBWAY RESTAURANTS) — People everywhere enjoy sandwiches daily. The fact is that it is convenient and easy to eat. Subway Restaurants, which has long been committed to promoting “better for you” eating among children and adults, made a visit to Agana Heights Elementary School students as part of their Fresh Fit campaign and in celebration of National Sandwich Day.
Gary Schiff, director of Business Development, and Philip Camacho, operations manager, shared the background on the origins of the sandwich and the importance of establishing early childhood healthy eating habits.
“It’s great that we have this opportunity to talk to kids about health conscious eating. With the recent introduction of our Fresh Fit menu for kids, parents don’t have to compromise nutrition when they need convenience,” Camacho said.
“You can choose better-for-you sides for a tasty, better-for-you meal that kids will love. It’s great to be here talking to our children on the importance of starting healthy eating habits at a young age. We hope they will apply these principles well into adulthood,” he added.
Subway’s Fresh Fit meals are developed to fit into the American Hearts Association’s approach to a healthy lifestyle.
